Welcome to the official website of the artist Sonic Element. This site will provide regular updates and information about my music productions. Sonic Element consists of a single member named Fotis who resides in Melbourne Australia.
Since a very young age, I have been interested in music of many genres. I begun formal piano lessons at 14 years of age and continued for around five years. During this time, I sat several formal music exams with ANZCA and performed at live events.
One of the my influences while learning piano was a radio show known as Club Cow. This aired weekly and played the latest and greatest trance tunes. After listening to it extensively, I decided to get into music production.
Some of the artists influencing me at this time were Paul van Dyk, Above & Beyond, BT, Matt Darey and Ferry Corsten. Unlike the other music out at the time, I felt that trance really took the listener somewhere and all the subtle production details caught my attention and made me keen to learn more.
Prior to Sonic Element, I had been producing trance basing it on concepts from classical music. However, with a new generation of trance music, I decided to start something new and fresh. Something that concentrated on the raw aspects of trance, like punchy bass lines and rockn drums.
I started Sonic Element in August 2007 which has lead to many exciting releases with support by almost all major DJs. In recently years, I have been closely working with Rob Stevenson (Activa) and his label Borderline Music.
In addition to music production, I have a strong passion for both music and computer technology and am definitely a geek at heart.
